HEREFORDSHIRE RACEWAY

A driving Ambition

A love of motor racing and a driving ambition to run a racing circuit of their own, Graham and Gillian Powell built and opened Herefordshire Raceway in July 2001.

The fast and twisting 600 metre go karting track located in the stunning Herefordshire countryside was an instant success not only with fellow karting enthusiasts but also with those who were trying karting for the first time and wanted to experience its thrill.

With the track attracting high numbers of people, the business grew solidly and so did investment in the circuit and its facilities.

The circuit, now run by their son Chris and a team of motorsport enthusiasts, attracts thousands of drivers each year offering a wide range of karting experiences for juniors, groups of friends, families and companies as well as it’s official championship series.

Herefordshire Raceway operates at a high standard of health & safety, with daily safety checks and detailed driver safety briefings. The management work closely with the National Karting Association and thanks their professional support in continuous improvement of services and safety standards.

The track welcomes both adults (17+) and children (8+) , individuals and groups. Adults can drive the awesome twin engine pro-karts up to 50mph.  Juniors (8-16 yrs, min height 1.3m) also drive the twin engine pro-karts but on a restricted setting until they have proven their ability.

“Presentation and quality is our benchmark.  By providing a beautiful circuit next to the pretty black and white village of Weobley, which won the village of the year award in 1999, we think we have achieved our goal.”  The Powell Family

Our Track

Herefordshire Raceway brings you the highest quality kart racing entertainment.  The challenging 600 metre outdoor circuit has been designed with safety in mind, but with fast sweeping curves and tight hairpins it provides an AWESOME racing experience!

The addition of a crossover bridge in recent years has made Herefordshire Raceway the ultimate challenge!

Our Karts

Our fleet of British built BIZ twin engine pro-karts offer precise handling, awesome performance and  sharp brakes!

Powered by two Honda Gx160′s and fitted with the latest Duro slicks you will be surprised by how fast these karts will lap the track, reaching speeds of up to 50mph!!

These karts are designed to our specifiction and feature sliding seats, extra light steering and flip over pedal system, all designed to make the customers experience more enjoyable.

Our karts are maintained to a higher standard than your average kart track. We also regurlarly test the karts to ensure that they lap within a couple of tenths of each other!

Our Junior Karts

One of our favourite sights is seeing the thrilled wide-eyed faces of children when they’ve just experienced their first few laps of the track!

Herefordshire Raceway offers great opportunities for young Lewis Hamiltons either wanting to out-drive their friends at a karting birthday party or wanting to improve their driving skills at our Karting Schools. Our new Junior Time Trial Championships have enabled young drivers to step in the racing circuit at an earlier stage.

Juniors use the same specification karts which can be restricted in power whilst the driver is getting used to the experience.  Sliding seats and flip over pedals mean we can fit children in as long as they are at least 1.3m in height.
