Open Grand Prix Championship 2019

The Open Grand Prix Championship is the ultimate hobby for karters!!  This is the best way to test and develop your karting skills!! 

The championship will consists of 6 rounds with your best 4 scores counting towards the championship table, the highest points scorer over the series will be crowned Herefordshire Raceway Champion!!

Each event consists of 2 x 8 minute heats, these are both preceded with a 5 lap qualifying session. The heats determine where you start for the 12 min final.  Championship points and trophies will be awarded on positions in the final.

There will be 3 classes, overall class, semi-expert class & a novice class.  All drivers will score points towards the overall table, drivers who have scored 1 or less podiums (and selected other drivers) will be in the semi-expert class, new and less experienced drivers will score towards the novice class.  There will be championship awards for top three overall, top 3 semi-expert & top 3 novices.  Drivers may only win one trophy per event, if you finish top 3 overall and top novice, the next best novice driver will win the trophy and so on.

There will be a minimum weight limit of 14 stone, drivers less than this will carry lead weights on their kart.

The dates for each round are as follows:

  • Sunday 14th April
  • Sunday 12th May
  • Sunday 16th June
  • Sunday 14th July
  • Sunday 11th August
  • Sunday 15th September

Signing on starts at 2:30pm, with racing to commence at 3pm.
